WHEN UNEXPECTED THINGS ARISE...

OK, so everyone keeps asking me when I'm going to post some more. Well, I don't usually have a lot to say. I pretty much lead a fairly boring life, you see. So, what's new in my life since the amazing weekend in KC?

Well, today I had to go out and buy a new refrigerator. Things like this come at such inopportune moments. I hadn't planned on having to spend money for a stupid refrigerator. So, I go carting off to Lowes to find a good deal. I decided I DONT want an ice maker since it takes up so much freaking room of your freezer! I need lots of freezer space and I very rarely use ice, so it works out well. So, my sister texts me and says that fridges are about $1000 then figure in extras. I'm on the phone with my mom, walking around looking at them and bingo...refrigerator, no ice maker, no bells and whistles....just....well, a refrigerator!! So, I buy it! In and out within 1/2 hour. And not too shabby on the price: $448. So, while I wasn't planning on an extra $500 coming out of my account, I have a new fridge scheduled to arrive tomorrow. YAY! Ok, Melissa, you won' t have to eat spoiled foods now!

Bummer, I hate spending money on that kind of stuff. I found my last one for 50 dollars. a place I used to work went out of business and I bought their refrigerator. It's a piece of ugly junk but it's in the rental property.

LOL, I hadn't planned on eating you out of the house!! Unless your fridge is full of pb & chocolate, that's a whole other story....

Lori, $50 is $50! As long as it works, who cares! Thats how I feel about this. As long as it keeps my food cold and/or frozen, then it's good enough. My sister kept saying, "you need an ice maker", get a KitchenAid....yeah, cos I have thousands of dollars lying around to spend on a stupid fridge....

Wow, that's an awesome price. We had to get a new one last summer and, gulp, it cost us $2,000.00! Yeah, one those ones with the bells and whistles. Christ, for that price it should do the grocery shopping for us.

It's a good investment! Did they end up hauling away your old one???

Yup, Suz, they did. I actually ended up with a floor model and got another 10% off because they LIED and said they had 2 of the one I wanted when actually they only had 1. Oh well. It has like 1 or 2 little dings on the back, but no one can see it.
