Well, really...here's whats been happening:
Hurt my shoulder as documented below. Went to ortho specialist and was diagnosed with shoulder impingement. Now I'm in physical therapy and getting iontophoresis (electrical current into my shoulder sending a steroid, dexamethasone into the joint) as well as ultrasound therapy. It's not doing well. I've actually got less range of motion today than I did when I started.
THEN, I've done something to my left hamstring. I'm not sure if its the new treadmill, but I think I need to put a level on it to see if it is not exactly level.
Needless-to-say, I've slacked off for the last 2 weeks!! I've done absolutely NOTHING! I've been told not to lift UB and when I do LB with DB/BB, it hurts my right shoulder. So, I just stopped doing everything...like a complete idiot. I also have NOT been eating well. So, with all that said and done, I've gained about 12 lbs, all of which I can assure you is plain, simple FAT!
But, the whining stops here. No more! I will do my workouts. I will run or bike or something. I will eat healthy. I will not give up!! I refuse!! I will get this 12 lbs off before TN! I may not have my abs back by then, but I will not go FAT! It just CANNOT happen!!!
So, my online friend, Jeremy virtually kicked my ass outta the computer chair and I just ran 2 miles on the treadmill. I now have an ice pack to my left hammie. So, the next 3 weeks will go as scheduled. I can still do LBWO with machines. So, I will do them. I can still do cardio. So, I will do it. I can still eat 100% clean. And so, I WILL DO IT!!!
Now, what do you have to say about that??

End of week 1: Free Day??
OK, so I restarted 7 days ago. Today, technically is the end of the Summer Challenge for me. We all know that I've fallen far away, but I'll take pictures in the next few days and end it.
This past week has gone okay. I went to KC and visited Lori and Casey. We went to a body building/figure/fitness competition. That's way motivating. I ate really well, even with visiting 2 restaurants. I didn't have any alcohol and I really didn't cheat. I brought food with me and for the most part ate that. I'm proud of myself. The margaritas looked really really good, but I stuck to my guns and only had water. YAY me!
I haven't weighed or measured or anything today. I still need to do cardio for the day. My shoulder is still bothering me quite a bit. I might have to break down and see the Orthopedist to see what he thinks. I'm doing some physical therapy and taking Aleve, but its really not helping...
So, today is Free Day but I think I'll just continue to eat healthy. I really dont want anything in particular, so why go off and ruin stuff. I'll make it to next Sunday!
I guess thats it for today. Lori looked amazing as always. And Chris-from-KS looked terrific too! They both should have done the competition. I have no doubt they would have placed.
More later...

BACK TO THE BASICS- Day 3
OK, here we go people. I'm calling Monday Day 1. A new 12 weeks. I had a horrid, HORRID challenge due to all the crap that went on in my life. My illness, stress at work, my mom's illness...it just keeps going and going.
So, what I've done is this: I spoke to my workout partner this evening. We are taking a break from each other working out for 4 weeks. We each are pretty burnt out, just in general, so we are just going to do our own thing. I'm going back to the basics. I'm going back to just PLAIN BFL style workouts for 4 weeks. The only thing 'extra' I'm going to do is on weight training days, I will do extra cardio....running probably after work for a few short miles. Nothing exotic. I'm hoping this will allow my shoulder to heal from whatever ailment it has, as well as help my brain and my emotional eating get back on the right track.
I did a light BFL UBWO on Monday and I did cardio yesterday, so I'm pretty much on track. I need to do some LBWO tonight and then cardio tomorrow morning. While it hasn't been the workouts thats thrown me off (nutrition would be the culprit) I just feel taking a step back and reevaluating what I'm doing, how I'm doing it and quite frankly WHY I'm doing it will be very beneficial. After 4 weeks, Krisanne and I will regroup and start working out together again.
My biggest obstacle is emotional eating. I'm not sure why I do it, but I have been HORRIBLE lately and have gained around 13 lbs. I KNOW that I can get that off before CW as long as I eat clean. I'm just wiping the slate clean, and everything is going to be just fine. I know it.
So, help break in my new thread. Keep me company for the next 4 weeks, BFL style, and then lets see where things go from there......
Goals, you ask? Hmmm, the only specific goal I have at this point is do the workouts and eat clean. The rest are always the same:
1: Lean legs out
2. Get abs back
3. Get to around 15% BF
and always,
4. Help at least one person with their challenge.
My beginning stats are horrific, so please dont run screaming:
weight: 155 YIKES!!
BF%: 20% (maybe more, maybe less...just depends on what you use to calculate)
waist: 29.75
hips: 38.5
thighs: 23.75
calves: 14
SO, there ya go. Now, its off to the garage with me for a BFL style LBWO.

Day 73-76
Here's from the last few days:
Day 73: Cardio
Did cardio twice on Wednesday. I got up at 530AM and ran 20 minutes and then came home later in the evening and ran 20 minutes again. It's been nice having the treadmill here. I would never have done extra if I didn't have it. Meals were 100%!
Day 74: Shoulders, Abs, and Cardio
Not going to go through everything I did in the gym. Cardio was at 415AM and was 20 minutes. Went to the gym t 5am and did shoulders. It was a crap workout. My right shoulder is giving me trouble and hurts. So, I tried lowering the weight and it was still bothering me. I did a few exercises but nothing too intense. I felt almost like it was a wasted effort, although my workout partner said I did well. Meals were 100%.
Day 75: Chest and Tris. Well, this didn't happen. I skipped my workout cos I felt so tired and just basically run down. I woke up and my shoulder was bothering me so I called my w/o partner and said I wasn't going. She was happy because she didn't really feel like going either! We make a pair. I think we are burning out. We need to come up with something new and exciting to keep our fires burning. Meals were good.
Day 76: Today. Usually, this is a no workout day for me. But, I got up and did cardio. I did 5 minutes of HIIT, then changed to sprints, varying from 4mph to 7mph with the highest sprint being 8.5mph. I did that for 20 minutes. Meals so far, great. I am going to get acupuncture in a few hours for my shoulder and other stuff. Maybe it will help.
OK, so that should catch us up to present day/time activities. I don't have anything exciting planned today except the acupuncture. In a few minutes, I'll go into the garage and do some chest and triceps so that I'm not so far behind on my workouts. I plan on running again later today, just a casual run and then tomorrow as well. Tomorrow, I'll go to a friend's house for their Labor Day Party, but I plan on eating 100%. Today is day 13 of my official Challenge. Tracker challenge almost over, but has been a total bust for the past few weeks. Not sure why I'm still counting, but I just can't stop. I have to finish it no matter what shape I'll be in.
I have 6 weeks to kick some serious bootay and bootay I shall kick. I'm sure most people have heard/read that Tracy J is coming to TN. I've known for months that she was going. I'm super excited that she decided to come and thats one of my driving forces to hit these next 6 weeks super hard. Can't wait to hug the stuffing out of her!!!
