Well, 2 cheats in a row!! I am so disappointed in myself for the last 2 days. There was absolutely NO reason to be cheating. Wendy says "oh your body needed it!!" I didn't have any cravings, I wasn't hungry, I wasn't "jones-ing" for something bad to eat. I just saw those HUGE ASS peanut butter cookies with the chocolate sauce on top and well...I ate it. It was PB and it had chocolate on it. What else can I say?? Then today, I just ate these other cookies. I guess it happens. I'm not going to dwell on it, but I'm just going to move on. Tomorrow is a new day.
Workouts, on the other hand, have been kick-ass! I've been able to up my weights each week on just about all my exercises. I think I can tell a difference in the tone of my arms, but thats about it. My legs are still exactly the same (as far as I'm concerned) but they certainly get sore everytime I work them...especially my glutes and hams. And so, I plug on....
Hopefully, everyone is kicking some serious butt on their challenges. We hit those bumps in the road, but it's important to just keep going and not sit and worry about what we've done. Look towards the future and how we will do at our next meal. We can all do it, just have some faith!!!

Day 16, 17
OK, am back from KC. Had a WONDERFUL time, as always, hanging out with Lori and Casey. It was just too short. I drove up Friday afternoon with Malea, my trainer, and then we all went to the BB/Figure Comp on Saturday and then we drove back Saturday night. It was very interesting, to say the least! Man, some of those BBs were AMAZING! To see the striae on each section of the quad muscles was incredible!!
It was interesting, also, to have Malea sit beside us during the figure rounds and explain why the judges were moving them around and why they were ranking each one the way they were. She's such a motivational, positive person!!! At one point, someone came out and had this incredible upper body, but legs not so incredible. In fact, they reminded me of MY legs. So I lean over to her and say "umm, so some of these girls are ripped up top but legs are still not. Does that mean that I may not get mine as lean as I want?" She looks at me and says "are you thinking negative? I think you are! Remember, what we think and believe is usually what we get." She's so right. If we believe we CANT do it or attain it, then its so much more difficult to really succeed!! So, lets all think positive. Get rid of the words " i think" or "i'll try" and replace them with "I CAN" and "I WILL." It's hard to do, but if we all want to get there...there being our ultimate body or any other goal for that matter...then we have to believe we can do it and that we *will* do it!!! Thanks Malea for making me really think about this.
Thank you to Lori and Casey for inviting me down and being wonderful friends, yet again!! These two people are super special and I am so happy that we have gotten to be such great friends!! You will all be happy to know, that we ate CLEAN during the weekend (albeit Friday was their freeday) and we actually packed a snack for the evening competition so that we could go out and eat healthy. Big *hugs* to those guys!!
Otherwise, the program/diet is going well. I bumped up most of my weights this past week just a bit. I just dont want to get comfortable with a certain weight, so I keep adding a bit more. I'll do it again this week. The only thing I haven't increased is my barbell squat weight. I'm going to add like 2.5lbs to each side this week, then at least I've gone up something!! Like Kevin said, I've got to "kill my comfort zone" but not kill me! LOL More later...

Day 12
Well, I wish I had something exciting to tell you....but I don't. Things continue to go well. Eating is good and workouts going fine. Malea helped me out a bit in the gym today, showing me just some slight position changes that made all the difference in the world. I'm so glad she's helping me. She's going to ride down to KC with me on Friday to watch the Gold's Classic. YAY, I'm super excited to go down and hang out with Lori and Casey!!! Its been nearly 3 months since the cruise so I'm super pumped to see them again!!!
Other than that, I got a new cell phone! LOL Really exciting stuff here folks!
I'll update again in a few days or sooner if something exciting occurs.

Day 8 and 9
Ok, well I was commanded to update my blog, although I just did it so not sure what the big deal is. LOL I'm up super early this morning, not sure why, just am. The gym doesn't open for another hour. I've had my first meal and am just hanging out.
Yesterday went well. I was a bit hungry for some reason early on but it subsided. Workout was Chest and this morning, I am sore, so thats a good thing! Its funny how changing things up will make you sore. I love that feeling!!! Its not so bad that I can't lift my arms or it hurts to breath, but I can feel it and I *know* I did something!!! Gotta love that! Did 35 minutes of the bike after the chest workout. It went by quickly as the lady beside me started talking to me and it kept my mind off of pedaling! So far, I think I really hate the stairmaster, but I just keep doing it! Its actually cool to do all the different cardio machines instead of just running. I think I may do a light 30 minute jog today, then 30 minutes on the ellitical, as I'm to do 60 minutes of cardio today.
Well, other than that, everything is about the same. I don't really feel any different, but its only been a week. I know if I can stick to this, I will see some awesome changes and advancements. I'm really not sure what will be accomplished in the next 4 weeks, but I, just like my mantra says, will never give up!!
I will update again later in the day to tell you about the rest of the day!!!
UPDATE: Rest of the day went well. Eating was perfect. I didn't end up going to the gym, but instead running outside for 1 hour (55min actually.) I ran down to the ponds behind the townhouses. There are like 2 little manmade ponds that have a walk around them connected in the middle by a straight way. If you imagine, its like the shape of a dumbbell. So 1 1/5 times around = 1 mile. I must have been feeling really good as I went out...ran 3 times around one pond, ran down the straight way and ran 3 times around the 2nd pond. Then, ran back and did it again. After the 6th time around then I came back, and did 1 full complete run around each pond and then ran home. I'm guestimating it to have been approximately 5.5 or so miles. I ran the whole time without even stopping once. Thats really good for me!! YAY!!!

Day 7
Ok, so here I am. Things are going well. The workouts are fine, although I do feel weak when I lift, but I'm getting somewhat sore so I'm happy about that. The diet, albeit strict, is very doable. I get hungry on the way home from work but thats because Im supposed to be eating at 430pm and so I've just not gotten home by that time this week. The one time I took it to work with me, I left work a bit early to go to the hospital and so when I left, it was late again. Every day this week I've eating between 515p-545p instead of 430p. Otherwise, I've not been hungry at all.
I've weighed this morning and I was down nearly 5 lbs since starting on Sunday. Ummm, I don't really want to lose weight. I want to lose fat and build muscle, so I hope that ceases soon. I can't really afford to get much thinner, especially in my upper body. But, maybe its get rid of the fat first, then build the muscle. Hrmmm, okay.
Anyway, calories ahve been ranging about 1550 daily, so just a bit more than I was eating before but eating TONS of EFAs!! More fat than I would ever think I should be consuming, but it seems to be working. When you actually look at food content, the actual total fat is only 24g in the day and the rest is all EFAs.
OK, well thats my report for today. I'm looking forward to driving down to KC and hanging out with Lori and Casey next weekend! I'm really pumped about that!!!

Day 4
Ok, so first day in the gym with my new workout schedule. I didn't fumble around and went right to work. The problem I have is, with any new schedule, you have to figure out what weight works. So, I'll call this week my trial and error week. I felt really weak. I've swapped doing dumbbell squats for barbell squats. My first set, I thought I'll just put a 10er on both sides. Well, that was way too easy! So, hmmm now what? I put 25lb plates on both sides. Well, that was way too hard, I could only do like 6 or 8 and my form was crap! So, I compromised and did 20 lbs each side. I feel like I should be able to do more than that. I mean come on...I've been working out for 4 years right? Anyway, the rest of the workout went fine and then I rode that stupid bike for 30 minutes. It makes my butt hurt, BUT I just kept on doing it!! I wasn't stopping!! I got home and later went for my 4 mile walk with the neighbor.
Diet wise, everything as planned. So far so good, although I've had a headache at the end of each day so far. But, I'm not hungry and so I'm happy. I've not cheated and haven't even thought about cheating. I think I've stepped into a new level, which brings me to:
I've made a decision. I can only get out of this what I put into it. I'm sure you are all saying "DUH!" No, this is not a new discovery. But, its a new realization that if I truly want to change, then no matter what, I have to stick to this. Even if I'm tired or hungry. I like the thought someone said about unauthorized foods. I think it was either Lori, Dana or Tracy Jeffries who told me: if its not on your plan then it doesn't exist. That food is not in the realm for possible consumption. Then Lori said the next best thing: imagine the nastiest, dirtiest person you know made that food! Ummm okay thanks Lori, I think that worked!
Anyway, 4 days gone and 80 to go for this challenge!! I'm so pumped!! Thanks to all of you supporting me and cheering me on! I know some of us are competitors, but the friendship we bring to each other and the support we give means so much more.

Day 3 of restart
OK, so am up bright and early this morning. I met with the BB/doc/trainer friend of mine, Malea, yesterday. She actually came over here to talk with me. She wrote a full workout program for me, breaking it down to 5 lift days and single body parts basically throughout the week. Its exactly what I needed and hopefully will help with the muscle building in the upper body that I so need.
The diet? Well, thats another thing. I *knew* she was going to be strict and well, I was right! Its completely different than anything I've ever done, which was her intent. She said I've been doing the same thing for so long that my body needs to get SHOCKED! Well, I think this will definately SHOCK me...lol, I hope I don't starve to death!! Just kidding Malea!! I tell you, I need to do something in order to get the fat off my legs, so I am going to do my best to stick with this for the 4 weeks and then go from there. I really, truly WANT to do this!!! So, I will. I'm starting the actual diet today and will maybe go to the gym later to check out the different machines, etc to make sure I know what I'm doing so I dont fumble around.
Other than that, nothing new. Its a holiday weekend and I have nothing to do. YAY! More later. I hope everyone is having a great weekend, be safe!
PS: Welcome back Kate!!! Please don't scare us like that ever again!!!! love ya girlie!!
Update: Going to bed now so I can get up in the AM to get to the gym. I did the diet today and well, I'm scared to say it wasn't too bad. Today was a splurge meal, though, so I ate this big huge piece of pita/focaccia bread along with my dinner (I mean HUGE!!!) YUMMO. Didn't go to the gym and check things out, but think tomorrow I'll be okay. More on it tomorrow...

A Friend is in Trouble....
OK, people. We have a crisis!! Our friend, Kate/Cake/Kajole, is in need of our support.
Kate, come on girl. Don't give up! YOu can do this. So what..you backslid some. So did I!! Everyone here has done it. That doesn't mean you should give up!! You have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and put yourself back up into that saddle. You can do it! We are all here for you! *I'M* here for you. Don't just wipe out your blog and disappear. If I have to come down to Georgia, I'm cracking some skulls (borrowed from The Breakfast Club.) Don't underestimate me coming down there either!!!
OK people....rally!!!!!!

Starting Over- Day 1
OK, so I decided I needed to start over. My eating just hasn't been the best this challenge. I dont know why, but it hasn't. I didn't have many clean days and so progress was stifled. So, today was Day 1 of the restart. I retook pictures last night. I was so freaking bloated because I just ate everything I could find. I don't know why, but I did. So, my pictures are horrible when compared to my 4 week picture, but all that will change.
Today was great. My eating has been perfect. I'm not craving to cheat, so, woo hoo for me. Tomorrow, I'm meeting with an acquaintance, who is a body builder/doctor/trainer. I asked if she could help me figure out what I'm doing wrong (obviously besides not the clean eats) as far as building muscle in my shoulders and leaning out my legs. We are meeting tomorrow in the gym at 9 am. We'll see what she tells me. Since I really dont have the fundamental knowledge about weight lifting, etc I think this will be extremely beneficial. The only thing I really know is what I read in the book. I know she is strict, but I will only get out of this what I put in. So, if I really WANT this, I better DO this.
I told Kevin that we really didn't plan this September 1st restart very well. That puts the very last day Thanksgiving Day!! I will have to find someone to take pictures a day or two prior to that!!!
Anyway, lots of support is needed and I know I will get it. Thanks to everyone who continually encourages me. It is greatly appreciated, more than I can express. I'll post totals after I eat my 6th meal.
