OK, am back from KC. Had a WONDERFUL time, as always, hanging out with Lori and Casey. It was just too short. I drove up Friday afternoon with Malea, my trainer, and then we all went to the BB/Figure Comp on Saturday and then we drove back Saturday night. It was very interesting, to say the least! Man, some of those BBs were AMAZING! To see the striae on each section of the quad muscles was incredible!!
It was interesting, also, to have Malea sit beside us during the figure rounds and explain why the judges were moving them around and why they were ranking each one the way they were. She's such a motivational, positive person!!! At one point, someone came out and had this incredible upper body, but legs not so incredible. In fact, they reminded me of MY legs. So I lean over to her and say "umm, so some of these girls are ripped up top but legs are still not. Does that mean that I may not get mine as lean as I want?" She looks at me and says "are you thinking negative? I think you are! Remember, what we think and believe is usually what we get." She's so right. If we believe we CANT do it or attain it, then its so much more difficult to really succeed!! So, lets all think positive. Get rid of the words " i think" or "i'll try" and replace them with "I CAN" and "I WILL." It's hard to do, but if we all want to get there...there being our ultimate body or any other goal for that matter...then we have to believe we can do it and that we *will* do it!!! Thanks Malea for making me really think about this.
Thank you to Lori and Casey for inviting me down and being wonderful friends, yet again!! These two people are super special and I am so happy that we have gotten to be such great friends!! You will all be happy to know, that we ate CLEAN during the weekend (albeit Friday was their freeday) and we actually packed a snack for the evening competition so that we could go out and eat healthy. Big *hugs* to those guys!!
Otherwise, the program/diet is going well. I bumped up most of my weights this past week just a bit. I just dont want to get comfortable with a certain weight, so I keep adding a bit more. I'll do it again this week. The only thing I haven't increased is my barbell squat weight. I'm going to add like 2.5lbs to each side this week, then at least I've gone up something!! Like Kevin said, I've got to "kill my comfort zone" but not kill me! LOL More later...
