Mini Challenge Day 4

Ok, I did not cheat, I did not cheat, I did not cheat! YAY! I had a good day today. I didnt start out well, as I didn't wake up in time to go do my run before work, but I went after work and felt great. I ran 4.5miles in 45 minutes, so for me...not too shabby. Slowly building my miles up, getting ready for the 20K. Now, 45 minutes is too slow in order to finish the 20K in 2 hours or less, but I felt really good. I did the whole run BFL style HIIT with the last minute of the run being 9.0mph. I could have gone longer, which is really crazy! I normally get really short of breath. I didn't have the right device in which to take my inhaler before I ran, so I pulled the pill apart and sucked the powder right out of the shell. LOL I didn't think it was going to work, but apparently it did!! It sucks to try to run distances when you have asthma! But, I manage fairly well.

Anyway, here are my totals for the day. Not too bad, I think.

Total: 1441 calories
Fat: 27 g (18%)
Carbs: 143 g (37%)
Protein: 157 g (45%)

Bring on tomorrow!!!

You have asthma too? Device...ha..you mean inhaler? And what pill? I've been an acute asthmatic all of my life, and I don't know of a "pill" that you can pull apart and inhale! Sounds like something illegal to me! lol. Great job on resisting temptation! I knew you could do it! And congrats on a great run as well! over 9mph? I don't have a way to track my speed or my miles, but I'm going to take a guess and say that my top speed would probably be more like 7mph. That's how pathetic my running is!

Jen,

It's like an inhaler, but different. It's called Foradil. Its a pill that you put inside this inhaler type thing and you punch holes into the tablet and then you inhale the powder. I left the part that you put the pill in to inhale it, so I just pulled the pill out...dumped the powder and basically just inhaled it! LOL Not correct form, but hell I think it worked!

Hmm. I've never heard of that before. I've been using the Albuterol inhaler for..well ever since they came on the market! I use that for my "quick fix," and I'm on Advair (when I remember to use it), and I have albuterol for my neubulizer. I miss the medications that had on the market 20 years ago. They were much more effective for me...but then again, that's when I didn't smoke, so maybe these drugs ARE as effective! I've decided that I will attempt to stop smoking AGAIN on the first day of my new job. I will have a completely different routine: different route to work, no smoker buddies, etc. I will have to start taking the Wellbutrin again around the 15th. God I really hope I can stick with it this time!

Hey you, just checking in and catching up!! Stay positive, you can do the 20K in 2hrs, YOU CAN!! And you WILL! There will be so much adrenaline pumping, we will both do it in under 2, (that's my goal too!) :) Keep up the running, you'll improve very quickly, especially with your running history. :) BTW, great job on the clean eating!!!
